Earlier this month, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the final instalment of its Sixth Assessment Report. The report's message is clear: current efforts to curb emissions simply aren’t enough. Emission-cutting technologies must be implemented immediately and on a large scale – and that's just one of the many measures necessary to keep the 1.5°C target from slipping entirely out of reach. Read on for more insights from the report, including a statement from IKEM’s own Dr Alexandra Novikova, who contributed to the assessment as a lead author. The need for urgent action on climate change continues to motivate IKEM’s work, this month and every month. In this April issue of our newsletter, we highlight the IKEM Mobility Department’s role in the EUniS project, an initiative that aims to slash emissions by electrifying public transport in rural areas.
