Hi , Winter is just around the corner, and concerns about war, increasing energy prices and economic instability have sent a chill through much of Europe. Meanwhile, perhaps the greatest existential threat of our times – climate change – continues to endanger life on a global scale.
These tumultuous events have raised the stakes for next month's COP27 climate talks in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, where participants from around the world will meet to discuss the implementation of the Paris Agreement. In this month’s newsletter, we speak with Dr Kathleen Pauleweit and Dr Michael Kalis about last month's annual conference as well as their hopes for COP27. Other topics include an infographic poster on the use of ammonia in shipping, updates on our research projects (including a just-released report), and a save-the-date for our conference on European energy law, which is set to take place next March.
Until next time, The IKEM Communications Team
