Hi ,
Whether we achieve our climate goals will depend, in part, on our system for transporting people and goods. Various proposals have emerged in response to the urgent need to modify our mobility behaviour and make transport more sustainable. But these ideas still face obstacles, including public resistance, funding limitations and constraints in the legal framework.
IKEM's research seeks to identify solutions to these challenges. In this April newsletter, we're pleased to share information on two new publications by our Mobility Department: first, a statement on the opportunities presented by the planned realignment of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan and, second, a study that explores the potential for redesigning electric charging infrastructure in a gender-responsive way. We also have exciting news on upcoming events: IKEM Academy 2023, 'Earth 2050: transformative strategies for a climate-positive planet', is currently accepting applications, and registration for the second Berlin Energy Roundtable is now open.
We hope you enjoy the read!
Until next time,
The IKEM Communications Team
