Optimism and change – insights into the IKEM Academy 2024

Hi ,

Positive climate narratives, not doom scenarios: that was the topic of IKEM Academy 2024. From June 2 to 5, participants discussed the energy transition, green technologies and the role that creativity plays in combating climate change. To find out more about what makes the IKEM Academy so unique, we spoke to Paula Scholz, co-organizer of the Academy, about the inspiring week.

Of course we will also report on our latest publications, including a factsheet from the FAMOUS project on the shared use of charging infrastructure, as well as an impulse paper advocating sufficient mobility policy. Ievgeniia Kopytsia and Jasmin Kreutzer report on the SB60 climate negotiations in Bonn and assess their impact on the upcoming COP29.

As always, we will also look back on this month's events – highlights of which were the final conference of the MobiRural project and our colleague's participation in the Forum Stiftung Genshagen – and we invite you to upcoming events: on September 18, the BOWE2H final event and the IKEM annual conference will focus on transnational cooperation in the field of offshore wind energy and hydrogen.

We hope you enjoy the read!

Until next time,

The IKEM Communications Team
