Renewables as drivers for the creation of added value

Hi ,

renewable energies are not only good for climate protection, they also strengthen the local economy – this is what IKEM concludes in a new study. Using the state of Brandenburg as an example, the study shows that the construction of wind turbines and photovoltaic plants creates local jobs and generates additional added value.

For this edition of our newsletter, we spoke to Dàmir Belltheus Avdic, one of the authors of the study: he talked to us about the prerequisites for a renewables-driven economic boom and the role that positive narratives play in a successful transformation.

We will also report on our latest publications, including on climate clubs in addition to the European CO₂ border adjustment mechanism CBAM, the road law requirements for the use of autonomous mobile robots and the drivers for multimodal traffic management.

We take a look back at the FAMOUS project event and would like to invite you to our upcoming events: the next energy round table will take place on September 4 and the BOWE2H final event as well as the IKEM annual conference on September 18 will focus on transnational cooperation in the field of offshore wind energy and hydrogen.

We hope you enjoy reading this issue of our newsletter!

Until next time,

The IKEM Communications Team
