Kicking off the New Year

Hi ,

the past year has once again set alarming climate records, reminding us all how urgent it is to realize the energy transition. That is why we as an institute shall continue to work hard to achieve a successful transformation. Of course, we will be taking you along with us.

For this newsletter, Susan Wilms, who is back from parental leave, gives us exciting insights into her new role at the institute, IKEM's increased presence in North Rhine-Westphalia and the role of this state in the energy transition. We also want to introduce you to IKEM's services and offerings, which include for example conducting workshops on equality and inclusion, legal analyses or event moderation.

As always, we would like to present our latest publications – including two contributions in the new Klima und Recht and an article in the journal Digital Geography and Society – and the events of the past month and give you a preview of upcoming events, including the FLexIMA workshop on February 17.

We hope you enjoy reading this issue and are looking forward to the year ahead with you!

Until next time,

The IKEM Communications Team

Empowering employees, initiating change

We all benefit from diversity, equality and inclusion: organizations that are committed to equality and diversity are generally more efficient and score highly in terms of innovation, productivity and employee satisfaction. Furthermore, many organizations are now required to take measures for equality – e.g. in the form of an equality plan.

In collaboration with Ellery Studio, IKEM offers creative workshops on equality and diversity. Using practical methods, we convey knowledge, promote intercultural skills and support organizations and companies in successfully implementing their strategies for equality and participation.

Interested in a workshop for your organisation? Our colleague Anika Nicolaas Ponder (anika.nicolaas-ponder@ikem.de, +49 30 408 1870-15) is looking forward to hearing from you!
