Ambition despite resistance

Hi ,

Another COP has come to an end – and once again, the negotiation outcomes and national climate commitments fall short of expectations and the scientific requirements for emissions reduction. At the same time, there were notable achievements, including progress on the new Just Transition Mechanism and on climate finance. Moreover, frontrunner countries across all regions demonstrate that ambitious climate action is possible, even in the face of resistance.

In this issue, we provide detailed insights into the work of the IKEM team that accompanied the negotiations at COP30 in Brazil. We also highlight new publications, including our latest analysis on sector-coupled heat supply in urban districts, and invite you to the upcoming edition of the Forum Wärmewende.

As always, you will find information about our events and latest publications in this newsletter – and up to date on our LinkedIn channel.

We hope you enjoy the read!

Until next time,

The IKEM Communications Team
